Style Cookbook
Help! I need info on classroom management styles for a paper?
AH! It is almost 9pm and this paper is due tomorrow! I’ve been researching for it since 7pm and still have nothing to show for it. Our teacher gave us a list of these classroom management styles:
Authoritarian
Intimidation
Permissive
Cookbook (the one I’m looking for!)
Instructional
Behavior-modification
Socio-emotional climate
Group Process
We were each assigned one to research and I got Cookbook. I’ve been looking all over the internet but for some reason can’t find much on this classroom management style. I need a definition for it and a discription of the classroom implications for teachers & for students

I think it is the one where you give students instructions = the recipe. Then you let them try it out = the cooking.Small groups because of saying “Too many cooks spoil the broth”.
Very useful in practical subjects such as science, computing etc.
Need to ensure that students ‘add to the recipe’ by keeping NOTES on their procedure and results.
Results may vary a little but did the ‘cake’ turn out alright.
Did the students come up with suggestions = a different type of cake.
If students repeat experiment etc is the result better with practice = a better cake e.g. in sports did game get better.
Not 100% sure this is correct but rings a bell from my student days before I was a teacher.
